Ordinary Time: Hand-washing and the Heart of God

Israel's purpose was always to be God's arm of hospitality to the Nations. But they, like us, often put energy and resources into making sure we are clean, good, and acceptable in ways that pushes others away and keeps them on the fringe and the margin. In what ways do we neglect our purposes of hospitality and faith? What do we do when the outsiders look more like God then the people of God do?
