Sixth Week of Epiphany: Transfiguration and the Way of Christ

Was the Transfiguration of Christ before Peter, James, and John only a singular event in history? James points us to the fact that each of us has quiet and dynamic encounters in which a light shines within us and unveils not only our true selves but also the Way of Christ before us. Theses transcendent moments of transfiguration are universal, bodily, and transformational experiences. To round out Epiphany and prepare for the season of Lent, we can look at the Transfiguration of Christ as the light within our hearts that reveals his Way to cause a change of form within ourselves.
